Premier Danny Williams Announces New Executive Director for the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador

Progressive Conservative Party Leader, Premier Danny Williams today announced the appointment of Lynette Carroll as the new Executive Director for the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador.

"Ms. Carroll is a wonderful addition to the party organization as the new Executive Director and it is my pleasure to welcome her to this new role," said Premier Williams. "I have worked with Ms. Carroll over the past number of years, and I can attest to her unwavering commitment and exceptional work ethic. She has served the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador with vigor, enthusiasm and passion. I am confident she will provide strong leadership and will continue to assist the PC Party as we prepare for the Provincial General Election in October 2011 and move forward with our vision for a brighter, more prosperous future for Newfoundland and Labrador."

Ms. Carroll has worked with the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador for more than 7 years in a number of positions. She began her career as the Constituency Assistant for Trevor Taylor, the former Member of the House of Assembly for the District of The Straits - White Bay North. Ms. Carroll was later appointed Executive Assistant in November 2003 for the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture. She has also served with Ministers of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development and Transportation and Works.

Biography

Lynette Carroll was born and raised in Roddickton, Newfoundland and Labrador. She graduated from A.C. Palmer Collegiate and then continued her studies at Memorial University where she completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2001.

After completing her post secondary studies, Ms. Carroll started her career with the Nordic Economic Development Corporation in Roddickton as an Economic Development Officer. In August 2002, she commenced the position as Constituency Assistant to Trevor Taylor, former Member of the House Assembly for The Straits - White Bay North.

While working as a Constituency Assistant, she spent her time assisting the people in The Straits - White Bay North District with a wide range of issues and concerns.

In November 2003, Lynette began a new role as Executive Assistant to the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture. She also worked as Executive Assistant to the Minister of Transportation and Works and Innovation, Trade and Rural Development.

Working as the Executive Assistant to a Minister has allowed her to work on many important government initiatives and has provided her with an invaluable understanding of government operations.

Ms. Carroll has worked with the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador for more than 7 years and has been extensively involved in the Provincial General Election campaigns in both 2003 and 2007, as well as several by-elections over the past number of years.
